Andrea Braeutigam is a Seattle-based an online mediator with experience in mediation, conflict intervention, coaching, and facilitation in many contexts.

Andrea works in agriculture, natural resources, housing, lending, foreclosure, landlord-tenant, contracts, public policy, eCommerce, and workplace conflict. I have mediated in both the public and private sector with state governments, federal agencies, sovereign nations, small businesses, industry associations, non-profits, community associations, the public, and corporations. Her practice includes consulting, system design and program development.

Andrea is the former lead mediator and Executive Director of the oldest USDA-certified Agriculture Mediation Program in the country. Over 15 years, Andrea has gained significant experience mediating in complex regulated environments such as United States Postal Service, US Department of Agriculture and its state agencies, and the Federal Aviation Administration. She has also mediated and facilitated for the Oklahoma Supreme Court, and SquareTrade/eBay. Early experience mediating online for eBay was the impetus for her published work, and sparked her enthusiasm for designing dispute systems. Andrea has been a member of many local, state and national bar associations, non-partisan community engagement and public policy groups, restorative justice programs and other volunteer organizations.

She is especially interested in using innovative methods of conflict intervention to prevent homelessness.

Executive Director/Lead Mediator, U.S.D.A.-certified Oklahoma Agriculture Mediation Program, whose mission was to reduce farm stress, avoid administrative appeal and keep family farms intact. Primary caseload of farm loans and foreclosures, conservation contracts, and disaster assistance programs. Mediated matters subject rules to USDA class action settlements for violations of civil rights of black farmers, women farmers and Native Americans. Facilitator for large multi-party public policy matters of environmental/agricultural concern, such as land use, water rights, and protected status of endangered species.

Workplace mediation and conflict resolution services for public and private sector clients. Provided customized assessments, communication training, conflict coaching, workgroup facilitation, strategic planning and team problem solving.

Contracts and Risk Management in environmental consulting. Negotiation and resolution of disputes to foster legal compliance and mitigate organizational risks.
